It looks like a fantastic film

This film is a masterpiece. Everything seems so natural, as if we are a fly on the wall (or snail on a picture). The child actors' performances surpass those in 'Outnumbered' (or 'What We Did on Our Holiday', which has a similar theme to this film). Perhaps the most outstanding scene (long and single-shot, like all others) is in the kitchen where the adults are discussing serious matters while the children come in to put a goldfish in a jug. I have two questions: - How much of this is ad-libbed (rather than there being an actual script)? - Why is it called Totem?

A new film by Victor Erice (one of THE great directors, in my opinion). Can't wait to watch it, but my expectations are sky high, which concerns me ever so slightly. I hope I also get the opportunity to see one or both of 'The Spirit of the Beehive' and 'The South', on the big screen in April. Fingers crossed!

Acest " regizor" ar trebui sa ceara scuze publicului la sfarsitul fiecarui film "creat si gandit "de el pentru simplul fapt ca le fura clipe din viata....Pacat de actori ,au facut un compromis jucand in asa ceva. Un alt film caracteristic " geniului " C.P. Agasant si enervant ca si intrebarile si comportamentul personajului.
